Head Speed Pro X is a brand new model from Head's new Speed series.
The Speed series builds on the popular Alpha series. As always, Head produces quality rackets in its factory in Austria, where it also produces its skis and tennis rackets. The result of this has been superior quality and an extremely low complaint rate.
The Speed Pro X has a drop shape that provides good all-round properties and responds well in the offensive game, while providing good control further back in the court. Unlike Head's previous top models, the Pro X is an extra stiff variant with 12k carbon fiber in the hitting surface together with Head's hardest core, called Power Foam. The result is an incredibly potent racket that responds well in offensive play for those who like to push a little extra in their volleys and overheads.
Furthermore, the racket has a relatively heavy weight of around 370 grams and a top-heavy balance. This combined with the stiffness of the racket makes it suitable for the more advanced player who can handle its characteristics.
Also new for this year is that Head has added rubber to the knob, which increases comfort in the grip and helps to absorb vibrations from the blows.
